Information we use
We collect account email, name and preferences, meter identifiers, provider and utility details, contract dates, confirmed bill rates and solar/battery settings you provide. With your authorization, we obtain Smart Meter Texas electricity interval readings and agreement information to display usage and compare electricity options.
Bills and AI reading
Uploaded bill pages are sent to our AI service to extract details for you to review. Watt Guard does not save the uploaded original pages; confirmed extracted details are saved to your private account. Avoid uploading information unrelated to your electricity service. Service providers process these pages to deliver the requested analysis.
Payments and service providers
Square processes card payments. Watt Guard stores subscription status and Square payment/customer references, not full card numbers or card security codes. Hosting, account, AI and authorized meter-relay services process information needed to operate Watt Guard. Square's own privacy policy applies to its payment services.
We never sell usage data
We never sell your electricity usage data. We do not share your usage with retailers for marketing without your permission. We may disclose information to fulfill your requests, comply with law, protect security, or support a business transfer subject to privacy obligations.
Retention, security and your choices
Account data is protected by account-scoped access controls. We retain information while needed for your account, service, legal and billing obligations; no system can guarantee perfect security. You can update saved details and request access, correction or deletion through support. You may revoke meter sharing through Smart Meter Texas; previously received data may remain until deleted or no longer needed. Essential account/session storage keeps you signed in. The service is intended for adults, not children under 13.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as our service changes. Material changes will be communicated through the service or your account email where required.
